== Why Not Descriptive Compounds? == Descriptive compounds like ''stor arm streng instrument'' ("large-arm string instrument") for viola are technically accurate but cognitively bland. They fail to evoke a distinct mental image or emotional reaction. This becomes problematic when learners need to distinguish between many similar words β as is common in domains like plants, animals, tools, or musical instruments. Of course Sekimoli doesn't avoid descriptive compounds if they're memorable and reasonably unique. There's nothing wrong with "string instrument" β but it should mean "string instrument", not "violin". The violin itself needs a memorable word, such as "cat instrument", "love instrument" or whatever.
